What the PRTG integration does
Network gear and monitoring status flow into each client's records and diagrams, so you can see what's down without opening another tool.
Setting it up
- In PRTG open Setup › Account Settings › API Keys and add a read-only key (PRTG 22.1 or later). On older versions use a read-only user's name and passhash (Setup › My Account › Show passhash).
- Enter your PRTG address and the key, and choose whether each client is a probe (the usual MSP setup, one remote probe per client) or a group.
The device status is PRTG's own summary of its sensors, so a device with a sensor in warning shows amber. The message PRTG shows (like Ping: destination host unreachable) appears on the record.
Included in every plan
Every integration is included at no extra cost, on the hosted service and self-hosted. Connect it under Admin › Integrations, click Test, and the first sync starts straight away.
